Where We're Making a Difference

Investing in the Global Economy and Environment

We want to provide $30 billion of financing by 2020 to business opportunities that enrich and preserve the environment. We seek to understand environmental and social risks associated with business customers we serve, and increase customer education and engagement in cost-saving environmental opportunities, from paper reduction to providing advice on products that meet environmental concerns.

The Answer is Blowing in the Wind

Our solar and wind portfolios have produced 61,800 gigawatt-hours of electricity, enough to displace the
release of 43.5 million tons of CO2. And because these renewable energy sources don’t require water for cooling, some 6.1 billion gallons of water have been saved. For our nation, that means projects owned in whole or in part by Wells Fargo produced 7.4 percent of US renewable energy generation in 2012.
