Congrats, grads!

To all you soon-to-be high school graduates: congratulations! You’ve worked hard these past four years — it’s time to take a moment and appreciate all you’ve accomplished!

Your life has likely been running in high gear for the last year or so. You probably kicked things off last spring by taking your college entrance exams, and since then it’s likely been a whirlwind of campus visits, college essays and applications, scholarship searches and financial aid forms.

This post is part of our Spotlight on Seniors series. Now it’s time to take a deep breath. And enjoy your moment.

With all the activity that surrounds graduation, it’s tough to find time to reflect on your high school successes, and all that you have to look forward to. I guess that’s what commencement speeches are meant to help you do — but isn’t everyone too excited and distracted to actually listen during the ceremony?

So, my graduation present to you…some pearls of wisdom from great commencement speeches. Read through them sometime when you’ve got a spare moment (not when you’re sitting impatiently with a mortarboard on your head, just wishing the ceremony would be over already).

Happy Graduation from all of us at the Student LoanDown! Enjoy the adventure that is to come!
