The opening bell

For 150 years, the start of the trading day has been signaled by the ringing of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) Opening BellSM. Over the years, CEOs, professional athletes, and celebrities have all had the chance to ring the bell (although according to USA Today, allowing “outsiders” onto the floor during the trading day is a fairly recent development).

This morning, members of the Wells Fargo Advantage Funds Board of Trustees and senior leaders of Wells Fargo Asset Management rang the bell. As of press time, reports that our staff meetings today were kicked off with a suspiciously familiar bell are unconfirmed.
