161

This weekend is Wells Fargo’s anniversary. On July 13, 1852, Wells, Fargo & Company opened for business on Montgomery Street in San Francisco. Pretty close to where our headquarters is today.  In the century and a half (plus!) since, Wells Fargo has focused on helping customers succeed financially—with innovation, stability and service.

This daguerrotype is in Wells Fargo’s Corporate Archives. We are proud of it, and proud that it represents our corporate memory back to “day one.” Happy Birthday to us—if you’re in San Francisco Friday, or in Old Sacramento Saturday, stop by our History Museum for a birthday treat.
