Earth Day 2014

This is Earth Day, the annual event to promote awareness of the environment and our place in it. Wells Fargo’s Environmental Forum blog marks the occasion—as they do every day, really. Check it out!

Earth Day 2014 has a focus on Green Cities. How to make the cities where we live more sustainable is, of course, based on our everyday actions as individuals. Our actions, as Environmental Forum says, “In the Office; In the Community; In the World”.

Earth day is over 40 years old. The early years, the 1970s, were a decade of everyday environmental awareness, due to many shortages of energy. Conservation was a must. Here are a couple images from Wachovia Bank’s News from that time, showing ordinary people doing their part to save gas and heating fuel.

I hope you’re inspired to do your part!
